XX ELRA General Assembly

Hosted by HM Land Registry of England and Wales, the XX ELRA General Assembly took place in London on Tuesday, 2nd December 2014.
Mr. Warren Gordon, Chairman of the Conveyancing and Land Law Committee of the Law Society for England and Wales, made the welcome speech. ELRA was honored to welcome representatives from 25 associations from 21 EU Member States. Relevant speakers from the European Institutions, Professors of Law from the University of Maastricht, the Secretary General of CINDER and EULIS representatives also participated in the Assembly.
Recent and future ELRA activities were presented by Alasdair Lewis, ELRA President, and the Assembly focused on the two ELRA ongoing projects: IMOLA (Interoperability Model for Land Registers) and CROBECO II, of which the closing conference was held the previous day. At this XX Assembly, the 6th ELRA Annual Publication was presented. Other important issues discussed were the Interconnection of Land Registries in the EU and the Multiannual European e-Justice Action Plan 2014-2018, presented by Mr. Fernando Paulino Pereira, Chairman of the Working Party on e-Justice of the Council of the EU. The new Scotland Law Act was introduced to ELRA Members. They also heard presentations about the Land Registry in Palestine and Fraud in the real-estate market in the UK.
