A cost /benefit analysis of CROBECO by Prof. Dr. Arruñada
A keynote speaker of the CROBECO II conference was Prof. Dr. Arruñada from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, who presented a cost/benefit analysis of CROBECO. His conclusions were:
- CROBECO needs modest fixed costs that should be amply compensated by substantial savings to be obtained in transaction costs;
- Identification of boundaries by a professional surveyor is costly and should not be made mandatory for CROBECO and domestic transactions;
- Intervention by legal professionals and other conveyancers from the country where the land is located is costly and should not be made mandatory for CROBECO transactions;
- CROBECO will enjoy substantial and increasing demand.
