1ST CONTACT POINT MEETING
(Madrid, 6th October 2010)
The European Land Registry Network (ELRN) met last 6th October in Madrid. At this first meeting coordinated by ELRA, the designated Contact Points of the different Land Registry associations (all legal experts in immovable property and registration law) approved the proposed operating rules for the ELRN Contact Points and the consultation patterns. The Network agreed to operate by electronic means and the necessary tools were provided..
Thereafter the Network analysed the impact in the Land Registration of the proposal for regulation on successions and wills, with special focus on the European Certificate of Inheritance. As requested by the Commission, the intention is to provide the Land Registries’ point of view on this issue to the EU authorities.
The Contact Points’ meeting also started to work on the reference information that will integrate the public area of the Network, focusing on the legal explanation of the Land Registry information provided by the national systems. This action will be performed within the e-justice program and in coordination with EULIS.
