This e-book is a dissemination of the IMOLA III Project (Interoperability Model for Land Registers)
IMOLA III is a follow up project that consolidates the European Land Registry Document – ELRD. It can be used as a common template to achieve a harmonized and interoperable Land Registers Information – the ELRD community – sharing a common schema to disclose Land Registers information.
To achieve this, the project has been implemented following the principles of neutrality in reference to the national registry systems, transparency, and interoperability so that the result of the project, the ELRD, is a European document directly applicable by all the land registries of the Member States.
The IMOLA e-book has been structured in four main sections:
- Letter from ELRA President
- Contributions from the European Commission
- Academic contributions
- Contributions by the Contact Points of the European Land Registry Network (ELRN)
Corpus Domain:
Another objective of IMOLA III is the consolidation of the semantic model that may be a contribution for the LRI, based on the ELRD as a fundamental basis and the I-KOS, with a specific content repository of the LR domain.
The use of common vocabularies and shared concepts should facilitate some harmonization in the land registry information at European level. The meaning of the registry information of the ELRD is based on pivot-terms and attributes and the ontologies that these ones enable to create. As a semantic model, relationships and semantic fields are developed from them. The specific one of IMOLA project is that they the terms have legal meanings from the perspective of the land registration
