On November 6th in Brussels, during the XXXIII General Assembly, ELRA commemorated its 20 years of dedication to European land registers.
ELRA President, Mr. Mihai Taus, opened the session giving some meaningful words related to the history of ELRA and its trayectory. He noted:
«Our achievements are due in no small part to the tireless dedication of ELRA’s contact points—the members of the European Land Registrars Network (ELRN). Their hard work and commitment have shaped this organization, enabling ELRA to remain a thriving, inclusive space where land registries can come together to share knowledge, overcome challenges, and refine best practices. The fact that more and more organizations have chosen to join ELRA over the years is a testament to the trust they place in our association. ELRA has become a welcoming and inspiring environment for those who believe in the value of land registry work and who wish to contribute to its evolution.
…
The past two decades have brought with them a series of challenges. ELRA has witnessed significant changes within and beyond our sector, from evolving European policies to rapid advances in technology. Through it all, we have shown our ability to adapt without losing focus on our core mission. A prime example of this is the IMOLA project, a landmark initiative that marks a major step in the interconnection of land registries across Europe. Just yesterday, we held the kick-off meeting for the fourth stage of this project, which is supported by the European Commission through a grant approved last week. This project exemplifies ELRA’s role as a hub of ideas and a generator of valuable, practical outcomes.»
The event continued with the intervention of Mrs. Ana Gallego, Director General for Justice and Consumers (European Commission). She highlighted the cooperation channels and mechanism built during these 20 years, also with the European Institutions, including the European Commission. She remarked:
Founding members and former presidents had a significant moment during the event. Mrs. Luisa Clode and Mr. Jan Moerkerke highlighted this 20-year milestone and achievements over the years collaborating together at the EU and national level. In addition, Mrs. Alicia Giménez, Director of the Secretariat, gave special thanks to her team for their great work, driven by their competence and commitment.
