1. Who are the main users of property information?

2. How is land registry information stored? Is it in electronic or paper format?

Paper and electronic format.

3. How is that information obtained?

From the deeds and documents presented for registration.

4. Is the register open to the public?

It is open to anyone with a legitimate interest.

5. If not, in what circumstances is access to title information granted?

Legitimate interest considered by the registrar.

6. Is there a fee for the information?

Yes, 3€ per simple note and 9€ if it is on the internet; and from 6 to 24€  for certificates.

7. What information is provided on the register?

A description of the immovable property, including the cadastral reference number, ownership and charges is provided on the register. Regarding personal data, there are some restrictions imposed by the data protection Act, which does not allow to give away such information to third parties. Any existing limitation on the owner’s capacity or the filing of bankruptcy will be included as well.

8. If more information is available “off register” in what circumstances can it be accessed?

There is no off register information

9. Is any information provided free of charge?

In the very near future all information for the Public Administration will be  free of charge.

10. Is it available online?

Yes, notes and certificates can be applied on line.

11. How is payment made?

It can be paid by credit card but there are also subscribed users.

12. How long does it take to receive property information?

Maximum in 24 office hours but the average is less than 2 hours.

13. If a paper/certified copy of title information is required, how long does it take to issue?

It is 3 days for the notes and 4 days for the certificate -per plot- maximum.

14. Is the information linked to a map?

No.

15. How is the map accessed-at the same time as the request for title information?

16. What other services are provided by your organisation

In small towns and villages, Land Registries operate as tax offices as  well.

17. What other uses are being made, if any, of information held on the register?

For statistics purposes, the Land Registry is the main information provider regarding the Real State Market and cooperates with the Public Administration as a source of information.
