Registration

A party wishing to apply for registration must do so on paper. Electronic application is under consideration. The applicant must submit the documents invoked in support of the application, for example, a party applying for registration of ownership must submit the acquisition document and the other documents required to substantiate the acquisition. An application with submitted documents is registered in the special register for applications. Decisions over an application required to be entered in the LR shall be delivered by entry in the register. The content of the decision shall be deemed to be that shown by the LR.

Title registration in the LR costs, apart from the stamp duty, 875 SEK, about 112 Euros, as time of writing. Stamp duty is one and a half percent of the purchase prices when the buyer is a private person and four and one quarter percent for companies. If a new mortgage has to be created, the main cost is a stamp duty tax on two percent of the amount, together with a fee of 375 SEK, about 43 Euros, as time of writing, for each mortgage. Registration of a title for a person with a price a 100.000 Euros, the fee and stamp duty will be about 1.612 Euros, and if the person also need a new mortgage, the fees and stamp duty will be about 2.043 Euros, as time of writing.
